Role Overview:

  • Perform technical duties in laboratory sections as assigned in Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Transfusion services.
  • Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files/databases.
  • Performs routine and advanced equipment maintenance.
  • Contribute to upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area.
  • Manage the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulations
  • Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures and participates in the Proficiency Testing Program, as assigned.
  • Monitor Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Inspection Control practices to assure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Ensure smooth workflow and demonstrate decision-making abilities in all aspects of performance in support of the Department.
  • Reviews requisitions and orders, verifies accuracy of corresponding specimens, documents specimen collection information in LIS accurately and updates as necessary

 

Key Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Lab Sciences or Medical Technology required.
  • 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience
  • A current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
  • ASCP preferred

Additional Information:

  • Location: Westchester
  • Shift: 1:30 - 9:30 PM, Monday-Friday with rotating Saturdays
  • Reporting into: Assistant Manager, Laboratory Medicine 

 

Pay Range: $47.23 - $75.59

 

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
