Veteran Employee Resource Group

The Veterans Engaged Toward Employee Resources and Networking (VETERaN) group supports and creates initiatives that positively impact military veterans at MSK. This includes supporting the hiring of new veterans and capitalizing on their expertise and talents when they join MSK. The group also expands career development opportunities and ensures accessibility to different programs. VETERaN also works to further MSK’s strategic goals of recruiting and retaining top talent, increasing patient access, enhancing patient quality and experience, promoting new knowledge and innovation, and maintaining financial sustainability.

“I selected MSK as an employer, wanting to work at a world-class institution that would respect my individual contributions. MSK has a strong, vibrant community of veterans and respects your military service and the experience and leadership skills you bring to the organization.”

Daniel Haughie Registered Nurse, CNIV, Urgent Care Center / Specialist, US Army

“The resources MSK provides for veterans surpass any expectation I had of a civilian employer. The veteran employee resource network is a collaboration of veterans who are dedicated to providing resources and incentives for and in recognition of our veteran staff and patients.”

Angie Avery Project Coordinator, Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials Consortium (PCCTC) / Petty Officer, Naval Reserve

“My transition to a civilian workplace was easy. I am doing the same type of job that I was doing on active duty — I’m just not wearing a uniform! The most rewarding experiences for me at MSK have been the opportunity to work with the most amazing and talented group of individuals.”
