Adult Chemotherapy Pharmacists

Adult Chemotherapy Pharmacists

Pharmacists in this area critically review, enter, mix, and dispense chemotherapy agents for administration in an outpatient infusion center as well as on inpatient floors.

Clinical Coordinator

Pharmacists in this role work in many areas and specialties. They oversee the daily activities and acts as a central resource person for the clinical and operational activities for their assigned area/specialty. Our clinical coordinators play an integral role in the development of pharmacy procedures, quality assurance and disseminate accurate clinical information to the professional staff in a timely manner to ensure proper drug use throughout the center.

Clinical Pharmacist Specialist

Clinical pharmacy specialists serve on the multidisciplinary team as experts in the therapeutic use of medications. Our clinical pharmacy specialists have completed two years of residency training and serve on specialized oncology teams such as leukemia, lymphoma, BMT, thoracic, neurology, and pediatric oncology. They work hard to provide safe and effective medication therapy.

Herb Information Center

We have a pharmacist who serves as the coordinator at the herb information center, specializing in herbal treatments and complementary/alternative medicine.

Materials Management

Pharmacy buyers, pharmacists, and technicians in this area are responsible for the procurement and maintenance of adequate supplies of pharmaceutical products, drugs, chemicals and biologics. They work in the main pharmacy and provide the pharmacy satellites and Omnicell’s with medications, including narcotics.

Nuclear Pharmacy

These pharmacists are certified as Authorized Nuclear Pharmacists and part of the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Service (MITS) which is under the Radiology department at MSK. They participate in the procurement, dispensing, and monitoring of radiopharmaceuticals and assist in many research protocols.

Pediatric Chemotherapy Pharmacist

These pharmacists work at the Main Campus and play an integral role in reviewing and verifying all the chemotherapy orders for pediatric oncology patients who are being treated inpatient, in the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center (PACC) or at any of our outpatient sites across New York and New Jersey.

Pharmacy Informatics

Pharmacists in this department are responsible for the integration of technology, data, automation and information as it relates to the overall medication management process.

Pharmacy Resident

Resident Pharmacists are PGY-2’s pursuing specialized training in: Oncology, Pediatric Oncology, Medication Use Safety, or Infectious Diseases. The residency program goals are to develop clinical skills to practice as an independent oncology provider.

Pharmacy Technicians

Our pharmacy technicians work closely with pharmacists across all areas and are the backbone of the department.

Satellite Pharmacist

Inpatient satellite pharmacists verify and dispense medications from our many pharmacy satellites throughout the hospital. Our decentralized system promotes positive communication with nurses and APPs to provide the best patient care.

Smart Infusion Pump Pharmacist

This pharmacist is a Clinical Coordinator who manages all smart pump related projects and works with different departments to develop safe and efficient infusion parameters within smart pump systems.
