Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Application Analyst II – Workday Optimization
At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), reliable HR and payroll systems are essential to supporting our mission of delivering world‑class cancer care. This role ensures the accuracy, stability, and integrity of Workday HR, Payroll, and integrations through proactive monitoring, testing, and change management to support flawless bi‑weekly payroll processing.
Role Overview
Testing Lead
Define testing scope, strategy, and comprehensive test plans for projects. Estimate timelines and resource needs.
Develop and oversee end-to-end testing strategies for complex, multi-tiered projects
Monitor test execution, troubleshoot issues, and utilize testing tool; Kainos to ensure timely resolution.
Lead testing initiatives for ERP Applications
Consolidate findings into detailed test reports and share quality metrics with management and senior executives
Maintain data integrity across ERP Records within Workday.
Document defects using ticketing system and report defects to business owners
Work in collaboration with Data & Analytics team to build audits & compliance reports
Support internal audits and compliance reporting.
ERP Support
Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
Participate and support in Workday releases and upgrades, testing new features, impact analysis, system enhancements
Support tenant management strategy, including sandbox and production environments – testing
Review HCM & Payroll audits during payroll weeks to ensure payroll data worthiness
Troubleshoot system issues and resolve data discrepancies across modules.
Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Finance leadership to support operational needs.
Ensure alignment of Workday processes with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Respond timely to all inquiries
Run reports for cross-functional teams
Integrations and System Interfaces
Coordinate with IT and vendors on system updates and troubleshooting.
Ensure data accuracy and security across integrations.
Develop process & testing documentation.
Key Qualifications
3–5 years of hands-on experience working with HRIS or Workday, ideally in an administrative capacity
Familiarity with Workday implementations or system optimization efforts
Exposure to ERP systems and how they support broader business operations
Experience working with Kainos is a plus
Background in healthcare or other large, complex organizations is preferred
Optional certifications such as Workday HCM, Workday Payroll, or SHRM-CP/SCP

Detail-oriented mindset with a high degree of accuracy and organization

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday
Location: Hybrid One time a Month on Site: 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY
Reporting to: Senior Director, Enterprise Business Application Services
