Exciting Opportunity at MSK – Accountant

At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), our accountants play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, supporting the organization’s mission to deliver world-class cancer care. In this role, you’ll contribute to maintaining strong financial operations through analysis, reporting, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Role Overview

· Collect, record, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with GAAP.

· Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.

· Perform daily data entry and coding responsibilities to maintain financial records.

· Complete non-complex monthly account analyses and reconciliations.

· Prepare audit-ready financial information for internal and external stakeholders.

· Support regulatory compliance reporting requirements for healthcare and nonprofit operations.

· Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and special projects.

· Partner with colleagues across finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.

· Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and practices.

Key Qualifications

· Strong understanding of general ledger fundamentals and posting rules.

· Knowledge of healthcare or nonprofit accounting standards is a plus.

· Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and analyses.

Core Skills

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Proficiency with financial systems, data entry, and reporting.

· Effective communication skills to collaborate with auditors and team members.

· Ability to adapt quickly and contribute to multiple projects.

· Schedule: Hybrid; 99% remote with flexibility to come on site a few times a year
