Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Echocardiographer
Join our Cardiology team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as an Echocardiographer and play a key role in delivering high-quality cardiovascular imaging in support of complex oncology care. In this role, you’ll perform a range of studies—including rest and stress echocardiograms, transesophageal studies, and advanced imaging (3D, strain, contrast)—within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Role Overview:
Perform echocardiographic studies including resting, stress, TEE, and advanced imaging in accordance with protocols
Prepare patients and equipment, verify orders, and ensure accurate documentation
Acquire high-quality images and complete measurements for physician interpretation
Monitor and prioritize patient flow to support efficient scheduling and timely care
Identify and escalate critical findings appropriately
Assist physicians during procedures and support contrast studies when needed
Maintain equipment, quality control, and a safe, organized work environment
Key Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree or completion of a Certified Vocational Training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography experience required
RDCS or RCS certification (registered) required
BCLS certification required
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic techniques
Core Skills:
Technical Expertise: Proficient in echocardiographic acquisition, including advanced modalities (3D, strain, contrast) and experienced with platforms such as Philips CVx and GE Vivid E95/Pioneer
PACS & Measurements: Demonstrated ability to perform accurate measurements and analysis within PACS systems (e.g., ISCV/ViewPoint) to support physician interpretation
·Clinical Judgment: Ability to recognize abnormal findings and escalate appropriately
Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in imaging, measurements, and reporting
Collaboration: Works effectively within a multidisciplinary care team
Adaptability: Thrives in a high-volume, patient-centered environment
Additional Information:
Location: NYC-based locations with potential travel to regional sites.
Schedule:5 days/week, 8-hour shifts OR 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts with possible weekend shifts coverage
Reports to: Supervisor, Cardiovascular Lab
