Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Project Manager – Revenue Cycle Optimization 

As a world‑leading cancer center, MSK is committed to delivering exceptional patient care supported by robust, data‑driven operational systems. This role sits at the intersection of Epic Revenue Cycle optimization, financial performance, and project leadership—driving initiatives that improve reimbursement accuracy, reduce denials, and strengthen enterprise‑wide workflows. 

 

Role Overview 

 

  • Lead cross‑functional projects focused on denials workflows and Revenue Cycle process optimization. 

  • Partner with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Clinical, and IT teams to define project scope, goals, and measurable outcomes. 

  • Analyze denial trends and collaborate with operational stakeholders to design corrective workflow solutions. 

  • Utilize Epic data models (Clarity, Caboodle, etc.) to support reporting needs and inform decision‑making. 

  • Develop detailed project plans including timelines, deliverables, risks, and resource requirements. 

  • Drive stakeholder communication through structured updates, reporting, and presentations. 

  • Coordinate testing, validation, and go‑live activities for Epic configuration or workflow changes. 

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with institutional priorities. 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen revenue integrity and operational efficiency. 

 

Key Qualifications 

 

  • Extensive Epic experience with a strong focus on denials management and related revenue cycle modules. 

  • Ability to interpret data models related to billing, claim edits, payment posting, and AR. 

  • Epic certifications or proficiency badges in Resolute HB/PB or Epic Cogito Clarity are good to have but not required 

  • 3–5+ years of experience in revenue cycle operations, financial systems, IT project management, or similar fields. 

  • Prior experience leading multi‑stakeholder technical or operational projects. 

  • Experience using data analysis tools like SQL, Tableau, Python

  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, able to interpret complex denial trends and translate data into action. 

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities. 

  • Organized, detail‑oriented project coordination with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities. 

  • Proactive problem‑solver with a continuous‑improvement mindset. 

  • Ability to build partnerships across technical, clinical, and financial teams while influencing without authority. 

Additional Information: 

  • Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday 

  • Location: Hybrid: 99% remote with flexibility to come to NYC as needed 

  • Reporting To Associate Director, Revenue Cycle Optimization
