Exciting Opportunity at MSK – Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant at MSK plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting for a complex healthcare organization. This position supports critical accounting functions, including cash oversight, reconciliations, and balance‑sheet review, while contributing to MSK’s mission through precise, compliant, and timely financial stewardship within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Role Overview
Oversee daily cash activity and treasury‑related functions.
Perform complex bank reconciliations with high accuracy.
Review and analyze balance‑sheet accounts proactively.
Prepare and support financial‑statement reporting.
Ensure proper handling of debits, credits, and general‑ledger entries.
Monitor bank‑statement transactions and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in monthly/annual close processes and audit preparation.
Provide analysis to interpret variances and financial trends.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for operational accounting needs.
Key Qualifications
4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or not‑for‑profit environments.
Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
Experience with cash management and reconciliation‑heavy roles.
Familiarity with Epic is helpful but not required; training can be provided.
Ability to prepare and support complex financial and audit reports.
Core Skills
Strong analytical thinking and comfort with high‑volume data.
Detail‑oriented approach with consistent accuracy in cash‑driven tasks.
Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
Adaptability to new systems, processes, and healthcare‑specific requirements.
Clear communication skills for partnering with operational stakeholders.

Schedule: Hybrid; 99% remote with flexibility to come on site a few times a year
