Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a Category Leader – IT to lead strategic sourcing and contract lifecycle management across key technology categories. This role supports enterprise operations by strengthening supplier partnerships, optimizing spend, and ensuring contracts meet security, regulatory, and performance standards.

The position partners closely with Supply Chain, DigITs, Legal, Information Security, Finance, Clinical Operations, and other internal partners to align sourcing strategy with institutional priorities and patient care needs.

Role Overview:

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across IT categories including software, SaaS, cloud services, cybersecurity, infrastructure, hardware, telecommunications, and professional services
  • Conduct spend analysis, market research, and total cost of ownership assessments to support negotiations and value realization
  • Lead the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, redlining, execution, renewals, and documentation within CLM systems
  • Partner with cross-functional collaborators to ensure compliance with data privacy, security, SLA, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and handle commercial risk
  • See opportunities for supplier optimization, consolidation, and process improvement
  • Guide and mentor Sourcing Specialists, supporting professional development and effective workload prioritization

Key Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, including IT category responsibility
  • Experience leading IT contracts, licensing models, SLAs, data privacy, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Proven success leading RFx processes and negotiating sophisticated agreements
  • Experience leading contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes
  • Experience working in healthcare or other regulated environments preferred
  • Experience influencing collaborators and leading initiatives within a matrixed organization

Core Skills:

  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting spend data and supporting cost optimization strategies
  • Effective negotiation and stakeholder alignment skills
  • Ability to prioritize and sophisticated initiatives simultaneously
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with e-sourcing tools and CLM platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, Icertis) preferred
  • Collaborative mindset with a dedication to accountability and continuous improvement

Additional Information:

  • Location: Hybrid; 633 3rd Ave
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
  • Report to: Director, Strategic Sourcing

Salary: 124,000.00 - 204,700.00 USD Annual

 

FSLA Status: Exempt
