Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our world-class Pathology team as a Histotechnologist III, where you’ll play a vital role in preparing biopsies and small specimens for histologic processing that directly supports accurate cancer diagnosis and patient care. In this role, you’ll perform routine, non-complex technical activities in alignment with departmental standards while contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven environment at the forefront of oncology.
Role Overview:
Perform gross examination on biopsies including measurements, weight, volume, and anatomic features.
Perform gross procedures and dictation on biopsy specimens.
Maintain the integrity of the specimen and patient identification.
Review clinical information provided to determine what pathologic examination is pertinent.
Provide photography on required specimens.
Escalate non-routine, complicated specimens to Pathologists’ Assistant or Pathologist as needed.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field with knowledge of Biology, Chemistry
NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Technician, or Certified Histology Technician license preferred. Eligibility to obtain NYS license required

Ability to perform dilutions and laboratory calculations

Strong digital literacy including working with databases

Additional Information:
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 4 pm to 12 am, potential weekend rotation; 100% onsite
Location: Main Hospital Campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
Reporting to: Assistant Manager, Pathologist Assistant
