Exciting Opportunity at MSK - Manager, Benefits Communication 

MSK is seeking a Manager, Benefits Communication, to shape how MSK communicates our Benefits programs to employees. In this role, you’ll create employee-centered communication strategies that market MSK’s robust employee benefits to our people, making them easier to understand and more accessible. You’ll focus on  strengthening clarity and enhancing engagement by partnering with HR teams—including Benefits, Retirement, Well-Being, and Employee Health to deliver a  meaningful employee experiences across MSK.

Role Overview 

  • Lead the development and execution of communication strategies for MSK’s Benefits and Employee Health teams, ensuring campaigns reflect MSK’s employer value proposition and values, and resonate with our healthcare workforce. 

  • Collaborate with colleagues in HR Communication and Marketing & Communication to ensure integrated messaging and efficient workflows. 

  • Develop clear, compelling messages for multi-channel delivery across email, print and, digital signage, SMS, MSK’s intranet, and MSK’s benefits website, among others. 

  • Create benefits-focused communication campaigns, and messaging for major annual efforts such as benefits open enrollment, well-being challenges, and flu vaccination. 

  • Manage strategy and content updates for MSK’s benefits website and support related project planning, client review process, and approvals. 

  • Manage relationship and workflow of external agency providing benefits communication support. 

  • Work within a matrixed communications team to maintain MSK’s unified voice, employee communication strategy, brand standards, and style. 

  • Using pre-defined KPIs, regularly report on the reach of Benefits and Employee Health communications and use these data to assess effectiveness and recommend ways to improve impact and/or reach.  

 

Key Qualifications 

  • Experience in employee communications, ideally with a focus on employee Benefits, within complex organizational structures, serving an employee population who does not primarily work in front of a computer. 

  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and execution of internal communication campaigns. 

  • Experience managing a multi-step approval processes, high-visibility deliverables, and cross-functional stakeholder needs. 

  • Strong project management capabilities with comfort navigating shifting priorities, multiple workstreams, and matrixed teams. 

  • Technical proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; Salesforce, AI tools, or light design/video editing skills are a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal instincts—able to “read between the lines,” anticipate issues, and guide stakeholders toward the best communication approach. 

  • Strategic, audience-centered thinker with the ability to distill complex information into simple, relatable, action-oriented messaging. 

  • Highly organized problem-solver who can manage ambiguity, adapt quickly, and maintain clarity in fast-moving or sensitive communication situations.

  • Location: Hybrid; 4 days per month minimum on site at 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY, or 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY
