Exciting Opportunity at MSK: The Pathology Lab is currently seeking a Medical Lab Assistant.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center consists of disease-specific pathologists, molecular diagnosticians, clinical laboratory testing experts, educators, and researchers with expertise and focus in cancers affecting both adult and pediatric patients. Our faculty collaborate with oncologists and surgeons to customize each patient’s treatment based on an individual diagnosis and are actively involved in developing new diagnostic tests to improve diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of cancer patients.

Role Overview:

• File/retrieve microscopic slide and paraffin blocks correctly and maintain them in an organized manner

• Ensure that materials are filed chronologically by year and accession number

• Perform proper identification to ensure materials retrieved match the forms submitted

• Maintain accurate and complete records

• Delivers requests in a timely manner and provides updates to the requestor as needed

Key Qualifications:

• 1+ years experience in a clinical laboratory as a Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Assistant or related job.

• High School Diploma/GED

Additional Information:

• Location: Main hospital campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY

• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 2:30 pm-10:30 pm

• Reporting to: Assistant Manager, Hospital Operations
