We are looking for someone who is excited about science, eager to learn, and committed to this position for a minimum of two years.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Research Technician to join our team. In this role you will work closely with a postdoc to support ongoing projects focused on metastasis and tumor microenvironment. In this role, you will work hands-on with several laboratory techniques and experimental mouse models to directly support discoveries that can drive progress in cancer metastasis research.
Responsibilities include:
- Laboratory Support: Order supplies and materials, prepare solutions and reagents, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure smooth day-to-day laboratory work.
- Techniques & Assays: Perform routine mammalian cell culture, including maintenance, passaging, and experimental setup (required). Execute molecular biology techniques (Western blot, RNA extraction, qPCR, PCR, IF staining, Maxi Prep) (required).
- Animal Handling: Manage and maintain a mouse breeding colony; perform handling, genotyping, and experimental procedures as needed.
- Data Recording: Keep accurate, well-organized records of experiments; prepare clear, detailed reports; and share results with the postdoctoral supervisor.
- Collaboration: Assist and work closely with postdoc, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Prior experience in a research setting, especially with molecular biology techniques and mouse handling, is required.
