Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Are you passionate about financial operations and vendor relations in a research-driven environment? MSK is seeking a Procurement / Billing Analyst to join our Research Facilities, specifically supporting our Animal Research Center. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research by ensuring efficient procurement and financial processes.
As an Analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with vendors and ensuring smooth procurement and invoice activities. Reporting to a Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll work collaboratively within a dynamic team to manage departmental expenses, reconcile inter-institutional activity, and support financial operations across our core facilities.
Role Overview:
Liaises between institutional investigators and vendors to coordinate and execute the importing and exporting of non-commercial animal requisitions.
Processes all animal purchase requisitions within the proprietary web-based ordering system.
Updates ordering requisition data to reflect order cancellations, price changes, and other adjustments.
Manages shipping of non-commercial quarantine animal importation and exportation. Coordinates with core staff, shipping companies, and shipping receiving institutions to ensure that animals are delivered in a compliant manner.
Reviews and verifies all information and confirms orders with vendor(s) and outside agencies and institutions.
Coordinates billing and purchasing documentation and notifies the appropriate staff of any discrepancies or problems.
Coordinates the shipment and receipt of goods and services
Maintains databases for vendors and strains. Provides receiving information to core leadership for various reports and projections as needed. Maintains department records, including logs and paperwork for orders.
Serve as the first point of contact for core staff and vendors regarding the procurement processes.
Key Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in procurement, finance, or accounting
Familiarity with institutional purchasing systems and vendor management
Experience in a research or academic environment preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Collaboration: Proven ability to build partnerships and work effectively in team settings
Decision-Making: Skilled at making timely decisions that drive progress
Organization: Detail-oriented with a focus on timely payment processing and quarterly reconciliations
Analytical Thinking: Ability to monitor and analyze expense trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hrs. on-site
