Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are currently seeking an IDS (Investigational Drug Service) Pharmacy Technician for our dynamic Pharmacy team.
Role Overview:
Perform technical tasks for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients under direct supervision of Pharmacist(s).
Assure that the pharmacists have the medication and supplies necessary for executing professional responsibilities and/or for Investigational drug inventory management and the protocol sponsor pharmacy liaison.
Acts as the lead for receipt of parcels from vendors and suppliers. Signs packing slip or bill of laden. If physical count and the bill/slip quantities vary, records variances by adjusting the quantities on the bill/slip. Uncrates and, if needed, palletizes and stacks onto internal delivery trucks. Completes information on parcel label accurately and completely.
Receives, documents and accurately positions labels on medications and products.
Ensure drugs are not expired as per departmental guidelines.
Processes patient's investigational drug return reconciliation.
Use precautionary techniques in handling and disposing chemotherapeutic, biological and other pharmacologic agents as per department guidelines.
Depending on location and/or assignment, the employee may do any or all of the below:
Ensure drugs are not expired for emergency drug boxes.
Prepare sterile, parenteral products using aseptic techniques as per department guidelines.
Compound extemporaneous products according to departmental guidelines.
Key Qualifications:
HS Diploma/GED with 2+ years of clinic/hospital experience preferred
PTCB or NHA Technician Certification (CPhT) required
Current NYS Technician License
Experience with clinical trials or handling investigational drugs is preferred
IV compounding experience preferred
Chemotherapy/hazardous chemical handling preferred
Inventory/narcotic control experience a plus
Experience with Shipping/Receiving logistics is a plus

Pay Range: $31.44 - $48.77/hr.
