Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Software Engineer I – Full Stack
We are seeking a Software Engineer I to join our team in MSKs Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (DPLM)! This role supports the development of AI-enabled web-based software designed to assist pathologists and other physicians in delivering optimal patient care. The primary focus will be on clinical AI-enabled digital hematopathology, automating repetitive tasks and improving diagnostic workflows.
Role Overview
- Develop and maintain AI-driven web applications to support clinical pathology.
- Work closely with software developers, AI engineers, and physicians to build features based on user feedback.
- ·Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to design and deliver software solutions.
- Conduct unit and functional testing to ensure quality and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical input and innovative solutions to complex issues.
Key Qualifications
- Experience in full-stack web development with a focus on Python and Django.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap) for frontend development.
- Strong backend skills with Python, Apache2, PostgreSQL, Celery, Docker.
- Familiarity with AWS, GitHub, VS Code, Postman.
- Prior experience in medical software, AI applications, or digital pathology viewers is a plus.

- Experience with code versioning tools and collaborative development environments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Additional Information:
- Pay Range: $100,600.00-$161,000.00
- Reporting to Physican Investoigator, SKI
- Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday
- Location: Hybrid; 99% remote with ability to come on site 1-2 times a year
