The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences currently has over 45 full-time faculty with wide interests in psycho-oncology clinical care, teaching, and research. Role Overview
This faculty position will concentrate on maintaining a clinical program focusing on the field of neuropsychology for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult oncology, hematology, and transplant patients during treatment and well into survivorship. This full-time Pediatric Neuropsychology faculty position provides a blended opportunity to improve pediatric cancer survivorship through continuing to expand a robust clinical assessment program and participate in collaborative research at a premier cancer center. The faculty position includes providing comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for a diverse population of patients and survivors, aimed to enhance and improve their overall level of functioning – both in and out of the classroom. Referrals are received from a wide range of Pediatric disease teams with whom you will collaborate closely, including Pediatric Neuro Oncology, Long Term Follow Up, Leukemia/Lymphoma, Psychiatry, Psychology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Neuroblastoma, and Sarcoma, etc. The faculty member will also assist in supervising Post Doctoral Fellows and Psychology Externs in appropriate methods of assessment, scoring, interpretation, feedback, and report writing. There will also be the opportunity for collaborative research on current studies that seek to improve neurocognitive outcomes and quality of life for survivors of childhood cancer.
Key Requirements
This search is open to potential candidates with a Ph.D. and Psy.D. at all levels of career experience and appointments will be made at an academic level commensurate with the appointee’s experience:
- Applicants must possess a doctorate degree such as Doctor in Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or equivalent from an APA accredited Doctoral program.
- Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice clinically in the State of New York (or must be licensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure in New York and New Jersey).
- Candidates must have clinical experience, as well as appropriate training, in working with pediatric, adolescent, and young adult cancer patients and their families.
- Eligible for appointment at an academic rank ranging from Assistant Professor to Professor.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of patients and parents.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and passion for teaching.
- The ability to work in a cohesive team environment.

$98,000 – $211,000
Compensation is based on multiple variables. This range represents annual salary only and does not include supplemental performance-based pay or any one-time payments that eligible candidates may be offered at the time of hire.
