Role Overview:

  • Reviewing appropriateness of lab tests requests
  • Performs specimen archiving and sample preparation for laboratory for testing - specimen accessioning, centrifugation, and aliquoting
  • Laboratory automation and equipment:
    • Loads and retrieves specimens from laboratory automation
    • Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
    • Maintains neat and accurate equipment records
  • Materials Management: 
  • Submits, processes and follows up on orders for laboratory supplies
  • Receives and unpacks reagents and chemicals according to regulatory requirements and lab policy
  • Maintains accurate record keeping of reagents and chemicals
  • Telephone coverage and other related duties.
  • Performs delivery and messenger duties outside the center per instructions upon request.
  • Works under direct supervision of lead technologists, laboratory Supervisors, and manager of the laboratory.
  • Maintain a complete, accurate, and organized file system, filing addition/correction sheets, requisitions, and reference laboratories’ results according to laboratory guidelines
  • Maintain an organized and secure supply area and reagent storage area to ensure easy access to reagents, chemicals, and supplies
  • Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED + 2-4 years of confirmed experience
  • Strong digital literacy in Word and Excel
  • Excellent information leadership skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share, and present information to laboratory and hospital staff

Core Skills:

  • An effective communicator, capable of resolving how best to reach different audiences
  • Flexible in your approach and demeanor to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances
  • Adept at crafting partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goals
  • Very comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range: $22.12-$31.13
