Job details

MSK is seeking an Elevator Operator for our Main Campus at 1275 York ave to provide safe, efficient and controlled elevator transportation for employees, patients and visitors to MSKCC.

Role Overview:

• Ensure elevators are in sound working condition and available for general patient, visitor, and staff transport as well as for medical staff, fire brigade or other emergencies.
• Supervise and control the use of elevators to meet the needs of all patients, staff and visitors requiring their usage; respond to calls from inpatient floors for patient transport; take direction from Elevator Supervisor in emergency situations.

Key Qualifications:

• Ability to detect elevator malfunctions(e.g., door safety devices, brakes not functioning accurately).
• An understanding of the Fire Department regulations surrounding elevator operations during a fire emergency is required.

• Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
• An effective communicator, capable of resolving how best to reach different audiences and performing communications based on that understanding.
• Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances.

Additional Information:

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm.

Location: 1275 York Avenue (Main Campus)

Report to: Supervisor, Elevator Operations • Facilities Management

Pay Range: $23.54-$35.44
