Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Senior Quality & Safety Manager – Patient Safety
As a Senior Quality & Safety Manager, you’ll drive excellence in patient care by leading quality initiatives, managing safety events, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high reliability across clinical and operational teams.
Role Overview
- Lead the review and follow-up of patient safety events and performance improvement initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth investigations and analyses of safety incidents, complaints, and outcomes.
- Oversee timely and comprehensive reviews of serious and sentinel events.
- Lead and perform Root Cause Analysis across the organization resulting from serious safety events.
- Collaborate with leadership on outstanding actions related to safety events.
- Provide written responses to external agencies regarding quality and safety.
- Manage teams and facilitate meetings to review safety events, quality safety metrics and performance improvement.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends and prioritize improvement efforts.
Key Qualifications
- 7 years’ of recent experience in a clinical setting or in quality & safety.
- RN (NY) License or other clinical experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of relevant patient safety and healthcare regulations.
- Expertise in high reliability principles and concepts preferred.
- CPHQ / Other ANCC certification a plus.
- Familiarity with Epic helpful.
Core Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations diplomatically and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic data management systems.
Additional Information:
- Location: Hybrid / 633 Third Avenue, NYC
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
- Reporting to Director, Patient Safety
Pay Range: $121,400.00-$200,400.00/annually
