Driving Digital Transformation: Vice President, Epic Systems

Role Overview

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is advancing its enterprise-wide digital transformation, and Epic is at the core. We’re hiring for a newly created executive role to lead the continued stabilization, optimization, and integration of the Epic platform following MSK’s go-live in February 2025.

The Vice President of Epic Systems will oversee all Epic applications supporting MSK’s inpatient, ambulatory, and digital health environments—ensuring they deliver on the promise of patient-centered, data-driven cancer care. This leader will manage a team of ~200 professionals and collaborate closely with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders—as well as frontline staff—to ensure Epic aligns with MSK’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Health Systems Operations, the VP will also partner with the VP of Non-Epic Systems and VP of Health Systems Adminisration & Operations to ensure platform alignment and interoperability across MSK’s digital health ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Epic Strategy & Optimization

  • Lead post-go-live stabilization, adoption, and optimization of MSK’s Epic platform.
  • Oversee all Epic applications across the care continuum—including clinical, research, and revenue cycle systems.
  • Align Epic’s capabilities with MSK’s strategic goals across oncology care delivery, digital health, revenue capture, and research innovation.

Clinical & Revenue Cycle Enablement

  • Partner with clinical, revenue cycle, and administrative leaders to ensure Epic supports seamless workflows, high-quality care, and operational integrity.
  • Optimize tools like EpicCare, Resolute, MyChart, and Cadence to improve provider experience and patient engagement.
  • Leverage Epic’s full capabilities to support value-based care, bundled payments, and payer partnership models unique to oncology.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Epic team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across clinical, operational, and technology teams to ensure alignment with MSK’s mission and enterprise goals.
  • Ensure system design and priorities reflect OneMSK values—unified, collaborative, and mission-driven.

Innovation & Interoperability

  • Stay ahead of Epic roadmap updates, regulatory shifts, and industry trends to position MSK for continued digital growth.
  • Champion interoperability and end-to-end integration between Epic and non-Epic systems.
  • Promote responsible use of data, automation, and AI to enhance decision-making and system performance.

Key Qualifications and Core Skills

Experience

  • 10+ years of healthcare IT leadership, including direct oversight of large-scale Epic implementations and/or enterprise Epic optimization.
  • Experience managing large teams ~50+ within an academic medical center or complex health system.
  • Familiarity with oncology, research environments, and/or complex specialty care is strongly valued.

Additional Information

  • Location: Hybrid role based in New York City, with regular onsite presence at 1275 York Ave, 885 Third Avenue and other MSK sites.
  • Pay Range: $293,800 – $514,000
