Principal Enterprise Architect
Exciting Opportunity at MSK:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in designing and implementing architecture and strategies across MSK’s Enterprise Portfolio initiatives. This role includes oversight of enterprise architecture for the Patient Journey and Record Management, Digital Imaging lifecycle (including VNA storage, PACS systems, and de-identification for research), and ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
The role will collaborate closely with Clinical and Research teams to create and maintain architecture roadmaps. This will involve providing expertise in interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR to enable seamless data flow, improve clinical outcomes and accelerate research. Architect will drive the development of scalable, secure, and innovative solutions while fostering cross-functional alignment and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Role Overview:
Strategic Architecture Leadership:
- Develop and manage technology roadmaps that align with MSK’s long-term objectives.
- Align enterprise architecture strategies with MSK’s objectives, particularly in healthcare digital imaging and alignment with research requirements.
- Lead architecture initiatives supporting the patient journey, ensuring scalability.
- Drive adoption of architecture recommendations and create architecture solutions at various levels including enterprise and agile release train.
Digital Imaging Lifecycle and Compliance:
- Responsible delivering comprehensive architecture and overseeing implementation of PACS, VNAs, and DICOM standards.
- Ensure robust solutions for de-identification of imaging data for research while adhering to HIPAA and GDPR compliance.
- Define and maintain non-functional requirements (NFRs) for imaging and clinical systems.
Portfolio Architecture and Governance:
- Lead the architecture runway for large-scale for the portfolio, ensuring technical foundations support implementation.
- Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to document technical debt and ensure it is addressed within the backlog.
- Establish governance models to guide technology decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
Reference Architectures and Design:
- Create and maintain reference architectures for core platforms, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.
- Define non-functional requirements (NFRs) in collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, and design teams.
Key Qualifications:
- 8+ years in enterprise or solution architecture roles, with a focus on architecture strategy, solution architecture, design principles and methodologies, particularly within healthcare or related industries.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale architectural initiatives particularly Clinical Workflows, Patient Engagement and Digital Imaging will be preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SAFe, Federal EA) and relevant modeling tools.
- Expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Azure), microservices, data platforms, security and privacy best practices, DevOps, and AI/ML integration.
- Skilled in healthcare digital imaging domain, especially with DICOM, VNA and PACS technologies.
- Experience with healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, FHIR and regulatory compliance.

Salary Range: $160,700 - $265,200
