Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Pediatrics Department: Join Our Research Team as a Research Technician!
At MSK, we are proud to be at the forefront of biomedical science and cancer research for over 70 years. We are currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Research Technician to support our cutting-edge research teams and help drive breakthroughs in cancer research and treatment.
The Department of Pediatrics at MSK has developed a truly innovative program that bridges the gap between laboratory research and clinical application. Our Pediatric Experimental Validation Program (PEVP) lies at the intersection of bench science and bedside care, focusing on translating discoveries into real-world impact. As part of this initiative, we have built a robust Patient-Derived Xenograft (PDX) tumor mouse modeling platform, which serves as a novel and powerful tool for patient-centered research.
We are seeking an Animal Research Technician to join our PDX team. This individual will be an integral member of our research team, contributing directly to the development and application of PDX models to support experimental cancer therapies.
Role Overview:
- Generate, maintain, and utilize PDX mouse models for pediatric cancer research
- Perform routine and advanced animal handling procedures
- Collect and process tissue and biological samples
- Record, manage, and analyze research data
- Assist with database maintenance and data entry related to research protocols
- Collaborate closely with scientists, lab staff, and clinical teams
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience in animal handling or preclinical models strongly preferred
Core Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality research standards.
