Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our Department of Medical Physics as Medical Dosimetrist. Eligible experienced dosimetrists (e.g., two or more years full-time equivalent as a Dosimetrist) may be able to work in a hybrid arrangement with an estimated 10 onsite days per year.

Role Overview:

As a key team member, you will provide treatment planning support for patients undergoing external beam radiotherapy, working closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapists.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification or eligibility for certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB).
  • A strong understanding of physics principles, radiation therapy, and treatment planning processes.
  • Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations and the ability to resolve radiotherapy-related issues.
  • Knowledge of radiation dosimetry calibration and radiation physics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Core Skills:

  • Expertise in treatment planning, dose calculation, and radiation therapy simulation.
  • Ability to obtain, interpret, and apply patient-specific information to develop accurate treatment plans.
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists and therapists.
  • Participate in quality assurance procedures, reviewing dose calculations, documentation, and patient records.
  • Educate and mentor junior staff, fellows, and others on treatment planning systems and departmental policies.
  • Present at departmental meetings, in-service training sessions, and professional workshops.
  • Stay current with new procedures, techniques, and technologies in the field of medical dosimetry.
  • Treat all patients and colleagues with the utmost respect, ensuring their unique needs are met.

Additional Information:

  • Work hours: Flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Location: One or several of the MSK campuses depending on clinical needs in a hybrid work mode: 5 onsite days per week continuously for up to 6 months, or 2 onsite days per week, or 10 onsite days per year, depending on eligibility.

  • Pay Range – $125,500 - $217,500 depending on experience level
