The Department of Laboratory Medicine is looking to hire Manager, Regional Laboratories!

Role Overview:

• Manages operations of the laboratories at Commack, Nassau, Hauppauge, MMC and other MSK sites, prioritizes workflow and assigns staff to meet the needs of the laboratory(s) and ensures efficient and quality operations.
• Monitors daily activities of staff, ensuring job duties are being completed accurately, thoroughly and within specified time frames.
• Initiates and implements work flow processes, procedures, systems, and reporting tools to enhance the quality, efficiency and accuracy of the laboratory, in collaboration with the Lab Administrator and Laboratory Medicine Operations Manager.
• Monitors staff compliance with all standards, policies, procedures of the laboratory, MSK, and regulatory and accrediting agencies. Intervenes when necessary to ensure adherence. Reviews new policies and procedures with staff as directed by Lab Administrator.
• Provides input into the selection and evaluation of new laboratory equipment. Supervises maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments/equipment to ensure accuracy, quality and timely results. Ensures availability of appropriate supplies to carry out area’s responsibilities.
• Represents the Commack, Nassau, Hauppauge, MMC and other MSK sites and labs on various MSKCC Committees and with other MSKCC laboratory managers

Qualifications:

• BS in Medical Technology or related field Laboratory Science
• ASCP license preferred. NYS license required. 
• At least 10 years of clinical laboratory experiences with min. of 5 years in moderate complexity management role.
• LIS knowledge of EPIC is a plus.

Additional Information:

• Hours are 9-5pm,  M-F fully on-site.
