Frequently Asked Questions
MSK is planning an EHR implementation in February 2025 - one of the largest transformations that we have undertaken in our history. It will be a significant change for all of us and requires deliberate and careful planning to ensure a smooth transition for our patients and our organization. The implementation will involve significant training and management of schedules. In preparation for this transition, MSK is implementing periods of restricted or limited vacation time to help leaders manage staffing.
Restricted dates (some approved time off) - November 18 - January 24
Blackout dates (no approved time off)- January 25 - February 8 (all MSK)
Restricted dates (some approved time off) - February 9-14 (all EHR users)
Additional support for staff will be provided through the enhancement of existing backup child and elder care resources.
At MSK, our compensation philosophy is to ensure:
-
- Recruitment, development, and retention of individuals with expertise, experience and skills in a competitive talent landscape
- Pay for performance
- Equitable pay based on job, experience and performance
- Fiscal responsibility
While the salary range outlined on a job posting denotes the minimum and maximum pay available for this role, there are many factors considered when deciding an individual applicant’s salary offer, including but not limited to:
Scope/responsibility/complexity, relevant experience, skill level, and the current job market. This range represents salary only and does not include performance-based incentive/bonus pay or any one-time payments that eligible candidates may be offered at the time of hire.
Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
New hires who have been vaccinated outside of MSK will be informed during the onboarding process how they can upload proof of vaccination.
No, this is an Institutional Policy and there will be no exceptions outside of qualifying exemptions.
Please review the updated CDC Guidelines on COVID-19 Vaccination.
Exemption request details will be discussed during employee onboarding and must be received in advance of a new hire’s start date.
