A Leader in Surgical Oncology
The surgical team at Memorial Sloan Kettering consists of more than 100 world-class surgeons dedicated to providing our patients with innovative cancer care.
Over the years, our surgeons have pioneered new techniques such as laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of many cancers. We’re also actively developing new devices to make operations safer and more effective, and are at the forefront of developing new reconstruction procedures as well as techniques to spare organs and preserve their function.
We’re also a leader in robot-assisted surgery and have the largest number of robotic systems in the five boroughs of New York City. We perform robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery to diagnose, stage, and treat abdominal, gynecologic, lung, esophageal, prostate, hepatobiliary, and gastrointestinal cancers.
At MSK, you’ll use the latest software, imaging equipment, and high-definition monitors at our three surgical centers:
- Main Surgical Center
Our 72,000-square-foot facility has 28 treatment rooms outfitted with the most advanced technologies. - Josie Robertson Surgery Center
A freestanding facility where surgeons perform a range of outpatient procedures in the 12 operating rooms. - Center for Image-Guided Interventions
Minimally invasive diagnostic procedures and treatments take place in CIGI’s six procedure rooms.
