Anesthesiology & Critical Care Opportunities
Department Specialties
Explore some of our Anesthesiology and Critical Care opportunities below.
Anesthesiology
Our Anesthesiology team is responsible for administering all forms of anesthesia for both inpatient and outpatient procedures. This includes all procedures in our main operating rooms, the Center for Image-Guided Intervention, endoscopy suites, Pediatric Day Hospital, as well as for oncology and radiology services.
We work closely with the Departments of Surgery and Nursing to manage activities in the operating rooms, the Surgical Day Hospital, and other MSK locations. We also play an active role in all preoperative preparation of patients undergoing procedures.
Critical Care Medicine
The Critical Care Medicine team collaborates with various clinical departments to provide specialized care in the adult medical-surgical intensive care unit (ICU).
We also have opportunities with our consultation service or Rapid Response Team (RRT), which is available for emergencies 24/7 at Memorial Hospital.
In addition to providing patient care, our team participates in multicenter research activities to advance care for patients, especially those with sepsis and respiratory failure.
Pain Service
Our pain specialists provide care for patients in and out of the hospital, offering acute, chronic, and interventional pain management services.
We also work closely with the Department of Medicine’s Palliative Medicine Service and collaborate with the Departments of Surgery, Neurology, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and Nursing, as well as the Division of Pharmacy Services.
Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory therapists work with physicians to treat adult and pediatric patients with problems with their cardiopulmonary system.
Working at MSK, you’ll offer a variety of treatments including mechanical ventilation, medication aerosols, volume enhancement, and respiratory muscle strengthening exercises to promote bronchial hygiene and restore normal lung function.
Our team also provides invasive and noninvasive mechanical and ventilator assistance for patients in the hospital, and monitors patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
