Role Overview

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopedic Oncology team, supporting both the Operating Room and Outpatient Clinic.

In this role, you'll provide first assist support for orthopedic oncology surgical procedures, working closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perioperative staff to deliver exceptional surgical care. In the outpatient setting, you'll see patients through both shared and independent visits, caring for patients across the continuum from initial diagnosis and surgical planning through postoperative care and long-term surveillance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a surgical APP interested in orthopedic oncology, the operating room, and longitudinal outpatient care. The position is primarily based in Manhattan, with every other Friday at our MSK Basking Ridge outpatient clinic in New Jersey.

Key Qualifications

For Physician Assistants:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• NCCPA certification
• Active New York and New Jersey State licenses (or eligibility)
• Experience as a surgical first assist in the operating room; orthopedic and/or orthopedic oncology experience preferred
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

For Nurse Practitioners:

• Current New York and New Jersey State RN and NP licenses (or eligibility)
• Master's degree in Nursing
• National NP certification
• Prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
• RNFA certification and operating room first assist experience required; orthopedic and/or orthopedic oncology experience preferred
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

Core Skills

• Technical Excellence: Strong operative and perioperative skills with the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Collaborative Teamwork: Works seamlessly with surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams across the OR and outpatient settings.
• Adaptability: Comfortable transitioning between surgical and ambulatory responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail, patient safety, and continuity of care.

• Location: Primarily Manhattan, including the Main Hospital Campus, 1275 York Avenue (OR), and Rockefeller Outpatient Pavilion, 160 E 53rd Street (Outpatient/Consult), with every other Friday at MSK Basking Ridge, 136 Mountainview Blvd, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920
• Schedule: Full-time, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
• Practice: Outpatient Clinic and Operating Room
• Reports to: Manager, APP
