Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Requirement:
MSK staff (including new hires) who do not work 100% remotely are required annually to either receive an influenza vaccination or obtain a medical or religious exemption. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.

The Healthcare Youth Accelerator Apprenticeship Program is a paid path for high school students to start a healthcare career. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience, a debt-free college degree, and credentials that lead to in-demand hospital jobs in nursing, surgical technology and radiology.

MSK’s apprenticeship program is part of the FutureReadyNYC Healthcare Pathway Accelerator, led by CareerWise in partnership with NYC Public Schools and supported by the James & Judith K. Dimon Foundation. Together, we deliver paid programs that begin in high school and continue into college, combining classroom learning with hands-on healthcare experience to prepare students for future careers.

Yes. The program is designed as a direct pathway into a career at MSK, and participants are expected to remain with the organization two (2) years after completing the program.
We are currently not accepting applications for the Radiology apprentices at this time!
There are many opportunities for growth, including advancing into specialized roles, continuing education, and leadership pathways. MSK supports ongoing development through training and tuition assistance.
The program is designed to support you to do both. Apprentices follow a structured schedule that allows them to attend college while working, with built-in support to help manage both responsibilities.
This program is best suited for students interested in the specific healthcare careers of nurse, surgical technologist, or radiologic technologist. While it provides valuable experience, it does not follow the traditional path required to become a physician.
No, this program is designed with specific partner colleges and a structured schedule. Because of this, attending another college is not compatible with the program.
You can continue your education after earning your associate degree. After you are hired as a full time nurse or surgical technologist at MSK, you can use the tuition assistance for employees to complete a bachelor’s degree while working.

Yes. Apprentices are paid during both high school and college. MSK also covers tuition, books, and fees (after financial aid)—helping students graduate without student debt.
Apprentices support hospital operations (e.g., transporting patients, delivering meals, and handling supplies) while gaining hands-on experience. During the school year, apprentices typically work Monday–Thursday, 1:00–5:00 PM.
Students apply in junior year and begin in the fall of senior year.

Starting pay of ~$72,000/year ($37/hour)
Apprentices continue working at MSK while completing their degree, then transition into a surgical tech role.
