Intensive Care Unit (ICU): MSK’s 20-bed Intensive Care Unit is the only ICU within the institution, offering high-acuity care for critically ill oncology patients. The unit manages a patient population that is approximately 40% surgical and 60% medical. Nurses care for some of the most complex and critically ill patients across the cancer continuum. A robust 16-week orientation is provided, and a two-year commitment is requested. Nurses work 12-hour night shifts, averaging 13 shifts per month. The ICU fosters a culture of autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continued professional growth.

  • Provide patient and family education, support, and care coordination
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required)
  • Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience
  • Active New York State RN license
  • Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems

Core Skills:

  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented inpatient environment

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities
  • Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple patient care responsibilities
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and evidence-based practice
  • Patient-centered approach with a focus on safety, quality, and service excellence

Additional Information:
