Role Overview:
- Order needed items from outside vendors as per departmental guidelines.
- Apply various software programs used by the department including Helios, UPS, Vuetura, Coupa, and others as assigned.
- Anticipate and avoids supply stock-outs by ordering items before they become depleted. Offers alternatives to out-of-stock items when appropriate.
- Advise management of known supply shortages or anticipated issues with shortages.
- Identify cost containment opportunities and makes recommendations for changes to managers.
- Check all orders received for accuracy against requisition form and packing slips while unpacking and distributing supplies.
- Ensure that all supplies required on patient floors are accurately distributed on a timely basis, as assigned.
- Consistently supervise expiration dates of medical supplies.
- Replenish clinical supplies and linen in clinical practice areas including supply storage closets, supply carts, exam rooms, and treatment rooms daily based on par levels for each clinical area.
- Process returns of over shipment and incorrect orders in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Handle the restocking of various other items to assigned floors including oxygen tanks and pantry items.
- Distribute or deliver incoming mail daily.
- Receive deliveries of all supplies, merchandise, and equipment using VueturaTrac receiving system.
- Monitor and control the flo w of delivery trucks by assigning loading bays to deliveries and communicating corresponding directions to truck drivers.
- Provide appropriate equipment for unloading of parcels, e.g., pallets, flatbed trucks, etc.)
- Check supplies, merchandise, and equipment received against packing slip for quantity and specifications by conducting a physical inspection and communicates any discrepancies (i.e., shortage, damaged merchandise) to supervisor/manager.
- Collects Specimens from various areas and delivers them to appropriate
- Areas in the established pickup times (if applicable)
- Places collected specimens in approved containers/totes.
- Transports and delivers time-sensitive materials (blood specimens, biopsy material) between main campus, other MSK locations
Key Qualification & Core Skills:
- Able to optimally communicate.
- Must be able to work independently and have analytical and problem solving skills.
Additional Information:
Location: MSK Monmouth
Schedule: Part-time: weekends needed(Saturday & Sunday) must be flexible during the week. 20 hours a week.
