Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Senior Dental Assistant serving the Dental Program.
The Dental Service of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center provides medically necessary dentistry for individuals who currently are receiving or have had chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and/or surgery for their cancer or allied disease. Established in 1934, the Dental Service provides diagnosis, consultation, and dental treatment of medically compromised patients, both in an outpatient and inpatient clinical setting.
Role Overview:
- Work with the management team to establish best practices and monitor workflows to ensure proper procedures during exams
- Pre-examination and post-treatment responsibilities include sterile instrument management, organizing the examination room, ensuring adequate supplies and instruments, and ordering dental supplies/maintaining inventory
- Assist with examinations and perform duties such as charting, preparing materials and instruments, passing instruments, and suctioning
- Provide guidance and promote professional development on the dental assistant team
- Contribute to the successful onboarding, training, and mentorship of new dental assistant staff
- Provide coverage for the Dental Manager when necessary, including reallocation of staff assignments, leading daily huddles, and performing clinical rounds
Key Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in the Dental Assistant setting with increasing leadership responsibilities
- Supervisor experience is preferred
- Proven understanding of dental technologies including radiographic equipment (intra-oral, Panoramic, and CBCT) and ability to capture diagnostic quality radiographs
- Experience working on a team, providing leadership and guidance to teammates
- Extensive knowledge of infection control and prevention in a Dental environment
- Experience providing care to patients of all ages including children, adolescents, and older adults

Additional Information: #LI-Onsite
- Location: shifts would be scheduled at our two NYC clinic locations; MSK’s Main Campus Hospital (1275 York Ave) and David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care (530 East 74th Street)
- Schedule: 9 am - 5 pm with the ability to be available between the hours of 8 am - 6 pm for rotating schedule/shift
- Pay Range: $27.80-$43.08
