DigITs (Digital, Informatics & Technology Solutions) at MSK is responsible for the integration of digital, data, analytics, and technology resources across the enterprise and the development of the platforms that serve as a foundation for MSK's cancer care and research. DigITs synthesizes the operations of Information Systems, Health Informatics, Data Products, and other core components of the information technology ecosystem, comprising some 1,400+ employees.
Janet is a multi-award-winning Information Technology Leader who brings passion for building top-performing teams to execute complex IT projects for the health care industry. With extensive experience at the world’s largest private cancer center leading application development efforts, Janet meets the IT needs of high-volume organizations with multimillion-dollar operating budgets. Known for handling complexity and ambiguity with a mindset oriented toward quality solutions, strong stakeholder relationships, and talent development.
Recent awards include the 2020 Ones to Watch Award for rising technology leaders; 2019 Digital Edge 50 Award; and led the efforts for my IT organization's recognition as Computerworld 100 Best Places to Work in IT 2 years in a row.
Theodora has twenty years' experience in academic medicine, focusing on the intersection of informatics, data/semantics, and technology. In addition to being a former researcher, she has been managing/leading teams since the late 90s and is focused on growing teams and developing upcoming leaders with a diversity of backgrounds, as well as using data and technology to transform healthcare and biomedical research.
Poorvi Parikh worked with Data for over 15 years having worn different hats, starting from application dba, to dba admin, data architecture, logical and physical modelling, business analyst and now a data engineer. She finds working with data fun because it is like molding clay and building different things.
Mindy has spent most of her career as a software developer and team lead in the finance industry. She has a wide range of experiences creating complex systems using large amounts of data. At MSK, she is applying these skills to develop a data platform that will help fuel the institution’s digital transformation.
Latasha Estrada is a Senior Analyst of the Data Stewardship & Integration Program for DigITs with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is currently working on the Unified Data Fabric (UDF) to create, standardize and manage the use of data throughout MSK. Prior to working with MSK, Latasha worked for over 8 years in testing and validating Health Information Technology (HIT) software for measuring and reporting clinical quality care to CMS. She also has a background in cancer and pharmaceutical research.
Rosemary is an Enterprise Architect with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center leading the digital transformation initiative for the Clinical & Logistics domain. Rosemary has over 25 years experience as an enterprise / solutions architect and technical director for very large scale, distributed IT systems, across a broad range of industries and business initiatives, to deliver new Business Capabilities, IT Transformation, & Enterprise Modernization, leveraging and integrating Emerging Technologies.
Julie Perilla Garcia is the Lead Software Developer for the Pathology Development team at MSK. Julie has a background in Computer Science and has been working as a Software Engineer for 20 years. She recently returned to school to get her Masters in Bioinformatics at Johns Hopkins. At MSK, Julie builds custom software to support operations in the Pathology Lab and the Pathology IT Department. She also works in Translational Informatics, a team that builds software to facilitate research at MSK.
Dr. Michele Waters has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, with a background in injury, immunology, biomaterials, and disease research. Michele is currently focused on improving patient care & clinical research by integrating & deriving insights from diverse datasets to facilitate healthcare innovation as a Data Scientist on the Unified Data Fabric (UDF) team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Ivon Tarazona is a back-end senior software engineer with 12 years of experience. After graduating from the Universidad de Carabobo, in Venezuela and spending a few years honing her skills, Ivon decided to pursue a life and career in NYC. Ivon is dynamic analytical thinker, with strong expertise in both software requirements and design who is always oriented to find solutions to meet project expectations. Ivon is a plant lover and on her free time she enjoys time with her dog Pumba.
Camila is a Software Developer, passionate about innovations in coding and making user’s lives easier. Camila joined Memorial Sloan Kettering last year and enjoys learning new frameworks and tools.
