Scheduled to open in 2019, MSK Nassau in Uniondale, Long Island will offer the same expert cancer care patients expect from Memorial Sloan Kettering, just closer to home. Patients will be able to receive much of their treatment — including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation treatment.
About the Facility:
The two-story, 140,000 -square-foot outpatient center is expected to handle thousands of visits from cancer patients living in Nassau County and Queens. Located off of the Meadowbrook Parkway, MSK Nassau will have about 240 employees including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, and other healthcare professionals, as well as administrative support teams. The facility will house technologies and programs for mammography, ultrasound, MRI, CT, and PET imaging. For patients who experience treatment side effects such as pain or problems with coordination and/or balance, a gym with specialized equipment, staffed by specially trained physical and occupational therapists, is also being planned. The center will also feature a pharmacy for MSK patients, a café for quick and easy meal selections, and plenty of parking.
