About the Facility
This new addition to MSK’s growing list of outpatient treatment sites is located near Memorial Hospital, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, opened in January 2016. At full capacity, the JRSC will be staffed by more than 400 employees, 24 hours a day, six days per week.
Employee-Driven Approach to Optimize Patient Experience
A patient-centered, employee-driven approach defines the culture of the JRSC, to align with MSK’s goal of always providing a comfortable, calming experience and compassionate care for patients and caregivers. For each operation, patient care will be provided according to a standardized clinical pathway established by the care teams, which will provide a unique opportunity to redesign the way in which perioperative cancer care is provided, with an emphasis on innovation, continuous improvement, and an optimized patient (and provider) experience.
Every employee plays an integral role in observing, providing feedback, measuring progress, and offering ideas for improving the quality of patient care, and the leadership team will support continuous testing and adaptation of these ideas in pursuit of ever-improving outcomes, efficiency, and patient and staff experience.
