Job Description Summary

Provides and is responsible for the planning, scheduling, tracking and implementation of technology products and projects. Supplies coordination, management and leadership on complex projects that deliver high quality solutions to clients in response to various business requirements. Knowledge and experience with resource allocation planning/tracking, project management tools/tracking, scope of work composition, business impact analysis, risk/benefit assessment, budget/finance support, deliverable tracking and management/executive reporting are required. A key duty is to serve as a liaison between client and technology areas in support of goal setting, objective attainment and client satisfaction

Maintains and controls overall project management responsibilities for implementation of business solutions. Requirements include analysis of both client and IS project goals/objectives, along with deliverable-based project tracking and reporting.

Serve as senior liaison between client, vendor and technology groups in support of accomplishing project goals. Related duties will require exceptional written, oral and presentation communication skill sets. At the direction of the Director, assumes responsibility for resource allocation, tracking and management for any project assignment.

Utilizes knowledge of and/or experience with leading-edge technologies and application components; works closely with all technical areas including application support and development to deliver well-planned and-designed functional recommendations.

Works with clients to understand and analyze business requirements; translates business need to solution-based alternatives; and oversees delivery of high quality products and services.

Influences client personnel and organizations, including executive management, when issues are complex/difficult and require considerable diplomacy/professionalism. Provides like service for management of vendor partners to assure timely delivery of product and services.

Provides planning and management based on overall IT strategy. Must fully understand and be able to articulate the MSKCC business and IT strategy. Knowledge and experience with intranetworking, telecom, relational database, operating systems, application development and IT platform design and implementation projects are required.

Maintains a current, working knowledge and reference library of relevant server, network and operating system (and software) components in support of project management in the areas of healthcare industry and specific MSKCC technology requirements.

Perform risk assessment, gap analysis and related (contingency, fallback, etc) analytical/planning tasks, as well as manage/handle preparation of and presentation of reports (written and oral) for critical managed projects.

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science

More than 10 years’ experience in complex project and technical management

Certification, affiliation and/or extensive training with PMI (or like accredited organization) is desirable
