Job Details:

The role of the Electrical Supervisor will supervise, guide and perform the administrative and technical activities to ensure efficient and effective operations, quality service and customer satisfaction for a 24/hour a day, 7-day week operation.

You Will:

  • Supervise, guide and perform the functions and activities of employees in the Electrical shop. Participate in hiring, training, orienting, disciplining, providing on-going feedback and contribute to the performance appraisal process. Responds to employee questions and provides guidance on how to proceed.
  • Review daily work schedules to ensure that workflow is controlled and meets the needs of the organization. Prioritize work to control daily operations. Check, inspect, and monitor work in progress for conformance to job specifications. Participate in the control of overtime costs. Communicate and ensure compliance to institutional/ departmental policies, procedures, quality standards and improvement initiatives, safety standards, and OSHA requirements.
  • In collaboration with the manager, plan for projects: evaluate work assignments to determine material and labor needs; prepare job material lists. Investigate delays, solve problems and ensure timely completion of current projects. Initiate necessary work orders in response to deficiencies noted.
  • Communicate, plan with, and accommodate end user throughout the working relationship.
  • Review/prepare reports and record information as required (e.g., time sheets, purchase orders, cost estimates, preventive maintenance, etc.).
  • Ensure a neat, clean, safe working environment and ensures safety of staff, patients, visitors, and contract workers during the performance of work.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies/ materials and equipment and reorders as necessary. Maintain knowledge of status of tools assigned to workers.
  • Perform the work of the trade on an as needed basis. Does the work of the trade and fills in for staff on vacation or/as sick relief. Assists Engineers and Architects on current and future facilities related projects. Respond to all emergencies 24/7/365.

You Have:

  • High School/GED Required.
  • The specialized knowledge and significant job-related experience to provide guidance to other staff.
  • 10 years experience as a journeyman electrician and/or 5+ years of electrical supervisory experience in a health care or institutional setting.
  • Previous experience in supervision of 1 or more staff.
  • NYC Master Electricians License (Preferred).
