Job Details:

As a critical member of the Clinical Research Administration (CRA) Education and Outreach team, the Clinical Research Trainer designs and delivers a comprehensive clinical research educational program for new and established employees of the Center. We are seeking an energetic individual with effective communication, organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Qualified candidates should also demonstrate excellent judgment, resourcefulness, efficiency, and creativity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Training Facilitation and Delivery:
    • Serves as the primary facilitator for CR trainings.
    • Delivers CRA-sponsored training in a logical and engaging manner.
    • Manage a variety of training projects.
  • Development and Maintenance of Educational Training Materials:
    • Develops and updates CR education tools and course materials.
    • Ensures that the appropriate and most effective methodology is used.
    • Ensures that the course materials are current with Federal, State, International Regulations and Guidelines and MSK policies.
    • Participates in the development and review of e-learning materials.
  • Clinical Research Course Management:
    • Collaborates with the Education and Outreach team to schedule all MSK-wide CR educational courses for CR staff. Also works to develop timelines for training programs.
    • Identifies and develops new strategies to effectively train staff.
    • Works with presenters on mastering course material and improving presentation skills.
    • Plans, schedules, and implements the Clinical Research Grand Rounds Series.
  • Evaluation, Analysis and Quality Improvement:
    • Summarizes and analyzes course evaluations and course data for presentation to Unit and CRA leadership.
    • Assesses quantitatively and qualitatively the impact and effectiveness of the institutional clinical research training courses.
    • Recommends, designs and conducts appropriate method(s) of assessment to evaluate the effectiveness of each training activity.
  • Outreach and Special Projects:
    • Participates or coordinates on both interdepartmental and intradepartmental organization-wide CR education and outreach related special projects/programs.
    • Provides leadership, organizational, creative, or clerical support to established and new educational and outreach/communication initiatives.

You need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in training, mentorship, and clinical research (internal clinical research support staff are encouraged to apply). Knowledge of medical terminology and oncology concepts strongly preferred.
    • Communication Skills: the ability to compose written correspondence and to present information in a clear and concise manner. Strong verbal, communication and listening skills
    • Information Management Skills: the ability to communicate, explain, interpret, share and present information to employees, management and clinical staff, as well as appropriate external contacts.
    • Time Management Skills: the ability to set priorities among several tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
    • Administrative Skills: the ability to organize and maintain all research information for assigned projects and to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures within MSKCC and Clinical Research Administration.
    • Computer Skills: excellent computer/software skills; A strong familiarity with Microsoft Products including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio and Access.
