Job Details:

The Information Services Department is seeking a Senior UNIX Administrator to join us at the new MSK Data Center located Middletown, NJ.

As the Senior UNIX Administrator, you will:

  • Participate in the development and support of Open Systems architecture and strategy across a large multi-vendor platform environment (VMware, Red Hat, Suse, et cetera).
  • Install and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux systems and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while performing other job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Work onsite at the DC in Lyndhurst until the Middletown location is open.
  • Provide on-call coverage, when not on a scheduled absence, and work off-hours work due to the 24×7 nature of the Data Center service-level requirements.
  • Attend periodic meetings at MSK NYC locations.

You need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of prior IT related work experience.
  • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux skills.
  • Hands-on experience with current server hardware technologies.
  • Experience with current Web technologies, Apache, MySQL, Tomcat and SAML 2.0 authentication.
  • Strong project management skills.

The following skill sets are highly desirable and preferred:

  • Programming experience (PHP, Python, Ruby etc).
  • Knowledge of security policies and experience implementing security controls.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies.

Hours: 9:00AM-5:00PM
