Job Details:

MSK is seeking an Associate Director, New Markets for an exciting new position with the Strategy and Innovation Team. The Associate Director, New Markets will be responsible for developing and deepening relationships with prospective and existing partners for the MSK Direct program as well as new products/ services currently in development. With an initial focus on the MSK Direct program, she/he will lead activities ranging from prospect identification and business development to on-boarding new partners and deepening engagement with existing partners. She/he will manage one team member, who will focus on partner engagement.

About MSK Direct: MSK Direct creates a relationship between Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) and its employer partners, ensuring simplified, guided access to the benefits of cancer treatment at MSK for partner employees and their family members. With MSK Direct, employees and their families will have direct access to a team of dedicated professionals who specialize in cancer. The team includes experienced nurses, social workers, and MSK Care Advisors who will be there to guide them through the process of getting care at MSK and oversee their experience every step of the way. As the Associate Director, New Markets, you will:

  • Formalize prospecting strategy, criteria and processes to identify prospective partners and to maintain a robust pipeline of prospects.
  • Cultivate relationships with relevant decision makers within prospect organizations.
  • Create and deliver business development presentations to key decision makers in prospect organizations.
  • Display an urgent commitment to collaborating with prospects and internal colleagues to launch new partnerships.
  • Establish trusting and collaborative relationships with key individuals within our partner organizations and drive awareness and engagement of MSK programs.
  • Analyze data and produce timely reports internally and externally as needed.
  • Collect and deliver feedback to the internal team to inform continuous improvement.

You are:

  • A strategic thinker who looks ahead to future possibilities and translates them into breakthrough strategies. You possess strong business acumen with an emphasis on analytics and strategy to support prospect identification, as well as negotiations, problem solving and decision making.
  • Able to operate effectively, even when things are not clear or the way forward is not obvious.
  • Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Effective at building formal and informal networks inside and outside the organization to further departmental and institutional goals.
  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) and a minimum of seven years of business development, relationship management or project management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of the health care ecosystem.
  • Employee Benefits experience preferred.
  • Track record of direct leadership, successfully motivating a team through uncharted territory.
  • Extensive experience creating and delivering presentations for key stakeholders.
  • Master’s degree in a related field (MBA, MHA, MS, MPH) is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or CRM a plus.
